Book Review: One Indian Girl by Chetan Bhagat

If you are a voracious reader with a touch of geek-spirit, you'll claim to be a fan of Chetan Bhagat. Although I do end up reading his books, I don't do this.

I was so thrilled to receive his latest book " One Indian Girl" (a. It was cheap. The book was very cheap. I wanted it to be read before I wrote my critique. However, I wasn't certain whether it was feasible for me to complete it without getting bored by it. It was so amazing that I was able to read it in two days, and then was compelled to ask for more.

Radhika Mehta is a successful I-Banker who struggles to find the perfect balance between love and work in the male-dominated world. Her parents believed that her excessive educationand the appearance of her wheatish skin made her male-resistant. However, she soon meets incredible men who prove her incorrect. They're affected by their male chauvinistic attitude, which says a girl can't have it all. They'll need to make difficult decisions in order to be with them.

Radhika in the story all through the book, is always trying to manage everything including her career that is booming along with her messy love life as well as her obsession with her mother's marriage. She's like every Indian girl in 2016, determined and independent. She wants to be with one who will not insist on her choosing. She doesn't feel that her work is more important than her family or the reverse. It's because she knows she's prepared to handle anything in the event of a crisis.

Surprisingly, Radhika is me. I laughed along with her, cried along with her, was angry with her, and was unable to feel for her. It's exhausting being the 25 year old earning a decent living in the big cities. You wear a brave smile and go to work every day. You can get a lot from you when life throws your adversities, like heartbreaks , or the pressure of an organized marriage. It's easy to pretend it's just another fight with your mom and move forward. Radhika knows that life is tough. You fight like a warrior, creating the illusion that there was no loss (even when you've actually died numerous times).

Chetal Bhagat has done a wonderful job with 'One Indian Girl'. It was fascinating to watch how he captured the essence of an Indian girl in the present and made it relatable through Radhika. He was able show the insecurities as well as inhibitionsof in an Indian man in the year 2016. It has less to do with beauty of a woman than it has to do through her brain. The book was enjoyable and a good read for a lazy weekend however, I discovered the synopsis to be unconvincing. Kudos!

This book is geared towards girls. It will let you know that you're the best. Don't compromise on quality.

Guys, you can get to know who you're working with by reading this book. It's important being mature enough and able to handle the fact that you are dealing with someone who is not your own.

A book with no feminist males and no feminist women

The polarizing book "One Indian girl by Chetan Bhagat is highly-respected. It is either they wish to throw it out or laugh at the sales figures and talk about "publishing revolution", "new breeds of readers" and "publishing revolution". Yes, Chetan Bhagat revolutionized the Indian (English-language) publishing industry once by advocating for the aspirations and demands of the next generation. This is not the same book. The company is selling this book. Peoplebuy brands for many different reasons. A large number of people are waiting to buy tickets to the premier of a film produced by an actor. Is this film any good? It might be, but it may not. People are there to see their favorite film, not because they think it's good. Bhagat's book provides an illustration of this: Res. offers books for free therefore sales numbers are not important. 1. In the first week following the date of its launch.

One Indian Girl is a story that reads as a color-by-numbers training manual for Bollywood scriptwriting. Is it a Punjabi wedding? You can look it up. Check. The third is an older, but very desirable, man. Radhika Mehta is a highly successful elegant, fashionable, and loving woman, could choose to marry one of these men. She may have fallen in love with these men because she's so unsure she can't believe that they made the choice to. Low self-esteem women do bizarre things. I'm sure there are many women who feel betrayed by men who aren't worthy of their attention. It's not our right to say to Radhika what she ought to feel. The issue is that Bhagat isn't able to provide a reason for why she is so obsessed with guys that aren't worthy of her attention. He assumes it's normal for well-educated, successful women to get smitten by people who make a mess of things.

Let's admit it. One Indian Girl has never intended to be a feminist novel. Bhagat's politics may be closer to the one of Brijesh Gulati, the portrayal: "I believe all human beings have the right to equal rights. There isn't a battle between men and women, but humans versus humans. Feminist is an incorrect term. It's a humanist term." This is also one of the conclusions Radhika Bhagat Bhagat, Bhagat's main character draws after her self-realization moment. "Everything doesn't need hi-fi labels such as feminism. She states "Just logic" and they both smile while they go off to the sun. They're happy with their rationality disapproving of a 300-year-old brutal story of a political movement's history. Do all stories told from a woman's perspective have to be feminist? This doesn't appear to be the case. The problem is that Bhagat lost the plot, and instead of writing a book "from the point of view of a girl", it became a novel about "the problems women face".
